Mental Health Specialist, MSc Health Psychology, BSc Applied Psychology

My name is Marina Stavrou and I am a Mental Health Specialist and founder of Mindly. I am a graduate of the University of Brighton, U.K. – BSc Applied Psychology (HONS) programme, and in 2022 I received my MSc Health Psychology diploma from the University of Southampton U.K.. In addition, I became a British Psychology Society Graduate Member (GMBPsS #741133) in January of 2024.

Education

I have completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in the United Kingdom where I had the opportunity to participate in a wide range of academic research, clinical trials & apprenticeship (e.g. the Safefit Trial, the Immune Defence Study), as well as, conclude both of my academic dissertations in qualitative & quantitative studies. In those 4 years, I acquired my certificates in “Good Clinical Practice”, “Healthy Conversation Skills”, in addition to completing my Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) course. I developed my data analysis skills using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) & NVivo.

Lastly, I am fluent in Greek & English, and at an intermediate level in German.

Further Training/Certificates

In 2020, I completed my certificate in “Neuro-linguistic Programming: The Psychology of Success” by the International Open Academy.

In 2023, I completed my certificate in “Sports & Exercise Psychology – CPD Certified” by Alison. As well as, the certificate in “Supporting Female Performance in Sport & Fitness” by The Open University. Further, I obtained the certificate in “Basics of Motivational Interviewing – CPD Certified” by Alison. Lastly, I received the certificate in “CPD Counselling Skills” by Oxford Home Study Centre OHSC.

Internships/Apprenticeships

The SafeFit Clinical Trial (U.K., 2021): I supported the conduct of fidelity assessments of the SafeFit intervention as per protocol. Additionally, I shadowed SafeFit team meetings to gain an understanding of requirements of running a clinical trial, as well as other projects related to supervisors’ activities depending on my interest and practicalities. I helped in the analysis of qualitative process evaluation interviews with the SafeFit participants.

Early Childhood Intervention Educational Centre – Noimathisi (Greece, 2024): During my internship I was able to clinically observe cases of Asperger’s Syndrome in early childhood, assist in the preparation of therapeutic material & equipment, and participate in therapeutic intervention programme. The majority of the cases were comorbid and non-verbal.

Today

Today, I work independently with people worldwide as a mental health specialist on a remote basis (teletherapy).
